Aalu
Aalu
Adult

Aalu was brought to us from Daulatpur by her caretaker. She had an old wound on her front leg and was also suffering from persistent coughing. On her first day, Aalu was given pain relief to make her comfortable. The next day, we conducted an X-ray to evaluate the cause of her cough. She has since been started on antibiotics, and her deworming has also been completed. The good news is that Aalu’s appetite is good, and she is otherwise stable. However, she is a bit overweight, so we are gradually increasing her physical activity and taking her on longer walks to support her overall health and recovery. With continued care, monitoring, and treatment, Aalu is expected to improve steadily. By sponsoring Aalu, you help cover her diagnostics, medicines, wound care, and daily treatment. Your support ensures she receives the care and attention she needs to heal and regain her strength. Every sponsorship makes a difference for Aalu.

Balram was rescued from Raja Ka Talaab after he was found with a deep cut on his hind leg. Bhola is the first buffalo of Peepal Farm ever! It's rare to even see a buffalo on the streets, and the thrill is real as this little boy was rescued by his own owner. Let's start from the beginning. Bhola belonged to a family who owned a small dairy, and Bhola was born there. They had a male calf after a long time and they raised him until he was a year and a half old. But it got difficult for them to continue providing for him. They were offered good money too to sell him, but they refused. That's when they called us. They requested we adopt Bhola as he didn't have the heart to give him away for slaughter. Bhola is officially a resident of Peepal Farm and we are ecstatic to have him here. Jonny was rescued from Tang because his life was in danger. His owners kept him tied up all the time and said he had become aggressive. They told us they would kill him, and there was no option but to step in and rescue him. Jonny did not have any physical injuries when he came to us. What he needed wasn’t medical treatment — it was freedom, safety, and patience. He has since been neutered, and while Jonny can be a little anxious around new people at first, he becomes friendly and affectionate once he gets to know you. His behaviour reflects a dog who was never allowed to be himself, not a dog who is “bad” or “dangerous”. Jonny is now ready for adoption. We are looking for a forever home for him — a place where he is treated as a living being with a personality, not as a commodity or something to be tied up and forgotten. Our team has now removed the hoof growth and started Kabutar on antibiotics and pain relief to manage infection and discomfort. Kohli was rescued from Kholi after he was found with a painful hoof injury and a tumorous growth. The swelling and abnormal growth were causing him significant discomfort. Kohli has been started on strong antibiotics and pain relief, and his hoof is being treated with regular cleaning to prevent infection. In addition, Kohli has been experiencing persistent itching, which we are also addressing as part of his treatment plan. He is currently on a controlled diet of bhoosa and green grass to support digestion and recovery. We have also noticed plastic in his stool, which is unfortunately common in free-roaming cattle. After the procedure, he was given a full course of pain relief and antibiotics, and he is now continuing treatment as per the Palampur team’s prescription, along with supportive supplements. Lagaan is currently on strict cage rest for two weeks to allow proper healing. After this period, his sutures will be checked, and he will then be taken back to Palampur for a follow-up recheck after 21 days. If his recovery continues to go well, Lagaan will be ready to be released back to his area once the doctors give the go-ahead. By sponsoring Lagaan, you help cover his surgery, medicines, follow-up visits, and care during recovery. Your support gives him the chance to heal fully and walk pain-free again. Moringa was rescued from Dramman, just 10 km from Peepal Farm. Unfortunately, an injury left her with a fractured hind leg, robbing her of the ability to stand. We initially tried our “treat on street” approach, but when we saw little improvement, we brought her to the farm. With dedicated care, Moringa recovered and regained her strength—no plaster needed! Understandably, Moringa is cautious around people, as her past humans treated her mother like a commodity, abandoning her when she was no longer “profitable.” But here, storms don’t last forever. Moringa will spend the rest of her life in peace at our sanctuary, surrounded by friends and free from exploitation. To support Moringa’s journey, click “SPONSOR.”

Paro
Paro
Baby

Paro was rescued from Parour after surviving a case of cruelty. She was found with a fracture in her femur (hind leg bone) along with a wound on her body. For now, Paro has been placed on strict cage rest so the fractured bone can heal naturally. Her wound is also being cleaned regularly to prevent infection and help it recover properly. Over the next few weeks, we will closely monitor her progress. If the femur heals well with rest, she may not need surgery. However, if the bone does not recover properly, we may have to perform surgery to repair the fracture. By sponsoring Paro, you help cover her diagnostics, medicines, wound care, and daily treatment during recovery. Your support gives her the chance to heal from both her injury and the trauma she has endured. Every sponsorship makes a difference for Paro.

Pasha

Pasha was rescued from Tanda with a serious fracture in his right front leg.

We did an X-ray and confirmed that the fracture was severe. First, we worked on reducing the swelling. After that, we put a POP cast and then did fibre casting for better support.

He is under regular recheck, including follow-up X-rays to track healing.

The plaster will stay on for a few more weeks. After that, we will take another X-ray to see how well the bone has healed. If recovery is good, we will keep him under observation for some time and then release him back.

You can sponsor Pasha to support his treatment and recovery.

Pepper

Pepper was rescued from Ansui after she was found with a severe open fracture in her hind leg. The injury was extremely painful and could not heal on its own. Pepper was started on pain relief and antibiotics immediately. When she stopped eating properly, she was also given fluid therapy to support her body. Sadly, the fracture was so severe that the only way to save her life was to amputate her injured leg. Along with post-surgery care, Pepper also had an open wound, which is being treated with regular cleaning to prevent infection and help it heal. She is currently recovering, and in about two weeks, her sutures will be checked to see if they can be removed. Once Pepper has healed from surgery, she will be spayed before being released, so she doesn’t have to face further suffering. By sponsoring Pepper, you help cover her surgery, medicines, fluid therapy, wound care, and spay procedure. Radha was brought to us by locals after she suffered an injury to her front leg. On her first day, she was given pain relief and her leg was splinted to stabilise it. The next day, an X-ray confirmed a forelimb fracture. To support proper healing, a POP cast was applied the same day. Radha is now on antibiotics and supportive supplements, and will be re-evaluated after three weeks to check how well the bone is healing. The good news is that Radha is eating well, which is a positive sign for her recovery. However, she shows aggressive and fearful behaviour, and prefers to stay inside the shed rather than going out into the open area. We are giving her space and handling her gently to reduce stress during treatment. Radha will need time, rest, and continued care to recover properly. Rehlu was rescued from Rehlu after he suffered a severe open fracture in his front leg. The injury had also caused a dislocation in his elbow. Initially, his caretakers took him to Palampur, where bandaging was done to stabilize the limb. However, due to the complexity of the injury and difficulties in managing his care, the limb deteriorated quickly. Within a week, the leg had become completely damaged and dried out due to necrosis. At that stage, the only way to relieve his pain and prevent further complications was to amputate the affected limb. The surgery has now been carried out, and Rehlu is currently under post-operative care. His surgical site is being cleaned regularly, and he is being closely monitored during recovery. In about two weeks, his sutures will be removed, after which we will evaluate his condition. Saathi was started on anti-inflammatory medicines to reduce the swelling, along with nerve tonics and supportive supplements to help her recover strength.
